A glowing, radiant lamb strides into the darkness. The thick evil withdraws as He enters into their hold. They can not stand in His presence, so they bow down in fear, trembling, scrambling to get out of His way. Until He lowers His head. And gently folds His beautiful legs under Him. And waits.

They are stunned for a moment. Confusion was familiar to them but this is something unheard of. Some starts to sniff around, while others slowly slither close. And then, it is chaos. Right at home with them was violence, murder, torture. Shrieks of glee as their foul stench envelopes that glowing figure. The whiteness turns to red as they tore into Him. There are no screams nor pleas from the Lamb, He was motionless- no, He kept still. They dug into His flesh and darkness seems to hide His glow for the first time in forever.

They say darkness covered the earth for a few hours. I think darkness was restless. Their Enemy lost, didn’t He? Where was their victory? What was their victory? I think they scoured the earth for three days. Confused. This was unfamiliar to them. Was this what victory was?

But there was no victory for them, for they soon realised they have not consumed the Light: the Light had come to destroy their leader, from within.

I think those three days was a struggle. Evil struggled as their long-awaited victory was suddenly turned into a scramble for survival. The roaring Lion, the real One, has barged through their stronghold and broke all their grips. Death was made hollow. Death lost its sting.

“After He said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.”

John 20:20

His message is not about saving the world, it is about a saved world. And I marvel at the fact, that I am part of this saved world. That shadow I see right now, is a battle fought 2000 years ago. Not by me.

He saw me in those three hours. He saw me in my sin. He ached for me. He wept.

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

II Corinthians 12:9

I dare not yet boast in this weakness I see. But let this be for me, Father. Make known to me Your Grace as paul saw, let it be known to me the Grace that You promised. Amen.
